 UMIST Wettability Tester
可檢測針織、機織及無紡布的吸濕、濕潤、導濕性能。
測試時，分別在試樣的四個方向上互成90度交角安裝接觸式傳感器，傳感器環的中心有一織物穿刺針頭，針頭上方為電池驅動、可充式的電子移液管，可將一定量的鹽水通過穿刺針頭而施加于織物上，同時啟動2個數字計時器，其中當傳感器接觸到水溶液時，相應的計時器停止并顯示出透水性數據以評價織物成整理劑的潤濕效果。
To determine the wettability, wicking or horizontal water permeability of woven, knitted or non-woven fabrics. An adjustable needle pierces the fabric in the centre of 4 contacts space at 90o around a circle. The battery operated, rechargeable electronic pipette is positioned above the needle and a preset quantity of salt water solution is delivered to the fabric, simultaneously starting 2 digital timers, one connected to the "North-South" contacts, and one to the "West-East" contacts. The timers stops when the relevant contacts are reached by the solution, providing data on permeability to evaluate fabrics and finishes.
